Happy Easter

We had a great Easter weekend!  Saturday night we got our Easter baskets.  I was sooooo excited to get a Monster High doll because I have been wanting it forever and my parents always said no!  I just love her because she is wearing roller skates and I have been roller skating all over our apartment in my skates!  Myla got some Elmo Bubble Bath.  She loves that stuff.  She immediately took mommy's hand and headed to the bath tub!  Of course we got a little candy! 
Sunday morning we put on our pretty dresses and went to church.  We had a great morning talking about Jesus and I made a really great craft in Sunday School.  Everyone loved our dresses, too!
After church we went to Granny's house for dinner.  It was very good and the company was great!  There was lots of eating and lots of talking and lots of playing going on!
After Myla took a nap we headed back to church for Kidz Zone!  We got to make Resurrection Rolls and all the kids loved it.  Mommy says we are going to make them at home every Easter, too, because it is a great way to help understand the resurrection of Jesus.  AND the rolls were super yummy to eat at the end, too!!!
We ended the evening by staying up late and watching The Bible on television.  Myla played while the rest of us watched.  It was great cause daddy didn't have to go back to work so he got to watch it with us!
It was a wonderful end to our spring break and now we are ready to get back in the swing of things after our week off!

Lessons Learned

Mommy learned a very valuable lesson today.  Attempting to visit the Indianapolis Children's Museum over spring break is not for the faint of heart.  However, if you must do it, taking the two Douglas girls is definitely the way to go.  Both of us were troopers!  We listened, we stayed with mommy and daddy and we had a blast!!
This morning we headed to the big city for a day of fun!  We knew everybody else in Indiana was heading for the same fun when it took us 15 minutes to turn into the museum parking lot.  We've never seen the line anywhere near as long as it was today!!  Ticket lines were all the way outside and around the side of the building!  We decided (along with a 20 minute line of other people) that it was worth buying a year pass just to get in a shorter line!!!  Our parents thought about leaving and coming a different day, but Myla was so excited about the dinosaurs she was seeing in line and I was super excited about the geckos!  So, 30 minutes and season passes later we were on our way!
My school class has been talking about Egypt and pyramids and so I was really happy when I saw that there was a whole exhibit about archaeologists finding an Egyptian tomb, a ship wreck and the Chinese Army Statues!!!  We checked that area out first and stay
ed there the longest!  I even told mommy that I could real all the hieroglyphics for her because I learned about them at school!  Myla and I did some digging for artifacts, too!!
Next we saw the trains.  Myla LOVED them...and one of mommy's favorite parts of the day was when daddy had to climb in the tunnels under the train tracks to get Myla to come out!  She was having so much fun she did not want to leave!  She also loved getting on the real train while it pretended to take us on a trip.  We decided the train was taking us to Chicago!
We checked out the dinosaur exhibit for a short time, but decided we'd go back to that part another day when there weren't quite so many people!!!
Another great part was the gecko exhibit!  I've been wanting to see it for weeks and we had fun.  There were all kinds of the little guys to check out and we even got to put on sticky hands and feet to see what it feels like to stick to the walls like they do!  We both made some geckos on the computer, too!  We saw super heroes and stopped in the Hot Wheels exhibit (a little too boyish for my taste) but it was worth a quick look.
We played in sand, we dressed up as birds, we rode the merry go round....we had hours of fun!  Mom and dad are probably a little more tired than we are because they had to navigate us through the thousands of people, but even they agreed it was a fabulous day!

Easter with Aunt Emily

The weekend was great!  Saturday morning we went to Levi and Evan's grandparents house.  The grown ups had some kind of party, but me and Myla just knew it was play time with our cousins!!!  We were so excited we could hardly stop playing to eat any lunch!
After the party we let Myla take a quick nap and then we headed to Marion for Easter with Aunt Emily!!  She flew in from Texas in the middle of the night and we were so excited to spend some time with her.  The Easter bunny also decided to make an early appearance, leaving us baskets of goodies and hiding eggs outside for a fun egg hunt!
Myla did a great job finding her eggs.  We only had to point her to one for her to see how to do it and she found all the rest on her own!  Mine were a bit more challenging to find, but I found all of them!!
Uncle Adam and Aunt Christy also came up for the celebration.  We had a fabulous Easter dinner (prepared by Grandma Donna) and spent the evening laughing and having a good time.
No visit with Aunt Emily would be complete without a performance by the Dancing Sisters!  I choreographed and taught Emily the moves and then we performed for everyone.  This time we let Myla help, too.
