Some "Firsts" Aren't Fun

Yesterday we found out that Myla has another first.  It isn't something to celebrate, like a first tooth.  No, this is her first ear infection.  Not just an ear infection, but a DOUBLE ear infection!!  We had no idea it was going on.  She has been a tad yucky for several days, but with her cough and runny nose we all thought it was just a cold.  But then Tuesday night she had a REALLY bad night.  She just could not sleep and she cried and cried and she had a fever that refused to go away with medicine.
She already had an appointment yesterday morning with Dr. Mauller, so it worked out well that mommy and daddy could take her in to see what was going on!  Some good things we found out were that she is 21.5 pounds and she is 29.5 inches long (yes, we all know she will be taller than mommy).  She also is doing really great for her age with all her motor skills and such.
Dr. Mauller did NOT like her nasty cough and tested her for RSV, which I hear is really bad for babies!  Thank goodness the test was negative and we think all the yuckiness is coming from a really severe double ear infection.  She has some medicine to help her and we are hoping it helps very quickly.
So because she was sick, we hung out at home most of yesterday.  Grandma got to pick me up from school and she spent almost the whole day with me!!!  She had lunch with us and then she played games with me while Myla slept.  Mommy and daddy were there too, but I was just super excited that grandma was there!  She even went with mommy to take me to my swimming lessons!
Grandma could NOT believe how much I love the water and how I am not scared to jump in , go underwater and just swim around.  She doesn't like water very much but she sure enjoyed watching me!  When swimming was over we came home.  Grandma left to go see grandpa and I got to have spaghetti for dinner!
It was a really good day for me, relaxing and fun.  Myla didn't have as great of a day, but at least she was pleasant by after lunch.  I think that means maybe the medicine is starting to work.  I sure do hope so because none of us like it when sister doesn't feel well!!!
