Almost Made It 5 Months
Well Myla almost made it 5 whole months before having to visit Prime Time Pediatrics. That is the place you go after hours when you have a sick kiddo in our city. While I stayed with grandma and pa last night, mommy and Myla spent the whole night on the couch. Myla wouldn't go to sleep in her bed because she didn't want to lay down. She just screamed and screamed. So mommy finally got her comfortable on the couch sitting up to where she could sleep and that is where they stayed. Myla would sleep about 30 minutes and then get up and then sleep 30 minutes and then get up. That lasted pretty much the whole night!!
This morning around 9am, mommy woke daddy up and he took a turn with Myla while mommy slept a few hours. Then it was off to Prime Time to see a doctor! My parents were afraid Myla had an ear infection because of the way she was acting, but the nice doctor said her ears looked perfect! He checked her heart, breathing, nose and he even checked for strep throat!! That was not pleasant, but the doctor said Myla doesn't have a problem with her throat and she doesn't have any other problems. So he said she probably has a cold and she probably has a headache or some other kind of ache with it that he can't diagnose. He suggested letting her sleep in her car seat the next couple nights if need be and also giving her tylenol before she goes to bed. He said she is so used to breathing through her nose that it probably ticks her off when she has to figure out how to breathe through her mouth because of congestion!!
I came home tonight after Kidz Zone and now we are in for the evening. I will be heading to bed soon and I think mommy is going to try to put Myla in her bed again to see what happens!! I think both of my parents are praying that Myla will go to sleep and sleep well through the night. We'll just have to see!

Holding Her Breath...by Myla
Tonight mommy is holding her breath. She is hoping that her littlest darling will go to sleep. She is praying that her littlest darling isn't getting sick. She is wondering what the night will look like.
Last night was a bit rough in the Douglas house. I just could not sleep well. I would just dose off when my belly would hurt and I would be wide awake and screaming! If you know me at all you know that I do not scream, so it was definitely a rough night. My poor sister couldn't sleep well because I hurt and was loud. My mommy couldn't sleep because she had to hold and comfort me. Daddy even got in on the action when he got home, waking up and trying to help mommy figure out what to do.
Anyone walking into our house today could tell that we had a difficult night. My big sister tried to have a good day, but she was just so tired. Mommy said not to worry because sometimes we just gotta cry over everything and it will be okay. Daddy had to work and he went to run this morning because he is still training for the half marathon in a few weeks. He came to check on us as much as he could today. Believe it or not, he actually looks pretty rested! Me and mommy aren't sure how! I started coughing and sneezing this morning and have done it off and on all day. And my eyes look a bit glassy. I was so tired today but didn't rest well at any time.
Tonight I was so very tired that I just fell asleep in the middle of bouncing in my jumparoo. Bounce, Bounce, eyes roll back in my head. Bounce, Bounce, eyes roll back in my head. Eventually the bouncing just stopped and I was out. Mommy picked me up and held me while I took a little cat nap. Then I had a bath and mommy put me in my bed. I seemed so tired until she laid me down and now I am just restless.
The good news is that Lynley is staying at Grandma and Pa's tonight because mommy wanted her to be able to sleep better, especially since tomorrow is Sunday. I am all tucked in and clean from my bath and so hopefully I will drift off for a good nights rest soon. Mommy has some work to do for tomorrow night and then I think she is going to try and go to bed much earlier than usual!!
Yep, mommy is holding her breath just waiting to see what the night has in store for us.

How To Have a Big Week
Things are going well in the Douglas house! We started the week by celebrating daddy's birthday!! We went to Grandma Donna's on Sunday afternoon and had a big dinner, cake and ice cream to celebrate! The cake was quite tasty and I made sure to tell mommy that I liked the "crust" as well as the icing. (The "crust" was actually the actual cake.) We didn't just celebrate daddy's birthday that day, but Grandpa Dave's, too! It was a great visit.
Then on Monday I got to bring Bosco the Bear home from school. You might remember Flash the Frog from last year. Well this year our traveling friend from school is named Bosco and he came home on a great day, daddy's actual birthday!! Me and mommy and Myla had a great dinner all ready for daddy when he came home from work Monday night. AND we had more CAKE!!! I LOVE CELEBRATING BIRTHDAYS!!!!!
Bosco hung out with us at Gran's house on Tuesday, too! I was extremely excited because somehow mommy got the Netflix to work on Gran's tv and so I got to pick out a couple of movies to watch! AND WE HAD MORE CAKE!!!! I even helped Gran decorate daddy's cake this time!! Mommy laughed a bunch because I decided to use the numbered candles 4 and 7 this time. So it looked like daddy was 47 years old this week!!!!!
Last night me and Myla got to go with Pa to Grandma and Grandpa Filler's house for dinner. I have really missed going there on Tuesday nights and it was a great first night back. Grandma made delicious homemade mac and cheese...one of my favorites!!! (Seriously though, everything Grandma makes is one of my favorites!!!)
This morning I had school and am now waiting to see what we have in store for the rest of the day! It is only Wednesday but we have already had a big week!

The last couple of weeks have been a whirl wind! Myla just keeps growing, I've been in school learning to write my ABC's (I can do A really well and can pick out many letters on paper now), daddy has been working hard and mommy has been trying to keep all of us going in the right direction! It continues to be exhausting, but in a really good way!
Lately Myla hasn't been sleeping as well as she usually does. She is getting up at night much more and getting out of her miracle blanket. Several times mommy has thought about not putting her in it, but she really won't go to sleep without it. So mommy is really trying to figure out what to do! Even though she is up more than normal, she is still such a sweet little soul. She is a very happy baby most of the time who rolls over and over, smiles all the time and even laughs out loud way more these days! Mommy can't believe how long she is. She is wearing 9 month pj's because she needs the length in her footed pj's!!
School this year is really great for me. I am making new friends and I even get to see my friends from last year sometimes. I've learned my left and my right. I am singing lots of songs about the seasons and days of the week. Mommy and daddy just can't believe how much I am picking up! I even blow their mind because of how much I'm learning in my church, too!
I just recently starting going to children's church on Sunday mornings, graduating from the nursery. Last week I told mommy all about King Ahab, Elijah, and Jezebel!!!! And mommy gets to see me in Kidz Zone on Sunday nights now. I am doing a really great job in there and am acting like such a big girl.
On Friday evenings I have been going swimming with mommy and daddy. I LOVE IT! The pool is really deep, with the shallow end being 4 feet, so I use a noodle to kick my way around. I am getting really good at going under water, jumping in to mommy and daddy and kicking from one end to the other. I have even heard my parents talking about swimming lessons for me!!
To be honest, I am really testing my limits at home right now...testing my parents and making sure they are always on their toes. It is a hard lesson to learn that I can't just throw fits and get what I want. It is also really hard to learn that "no" means "no" and I have to use my ears to LISTEN! I bet my parents say the word, "LISTEN," at least 100 times a day! Somebody just needs to keep reminding mommy and daddy that THIS IS A PHASE!
I still love being a big sister, though. I love Myla and I love that she is starting to interact more with me! I sit and talk to her and I help comfort her when she is sad. I get so super excited when she smiles at me!!
I hope this catches you up a little bit. Tonight I was playing with my cousins and realizing that it has been way too long since I've updated this blog! I will try to remind mommy that we need to do it ALL THE TIME!

Roll with It
Something pretty big took place yesterday at our house. Myla Joy figured out how to roll completely over! She has been rolling from her tummy to her back for a little while, but yesterday she decided to show us it is a piece of cake to roll from her back to her tummy! Getting that arm and shoulder out of the way is no big thing!!!
