Mommy and Daddy had a big surprise for me Friday! A couple months ago mommy and my cousin, Karen, bought tickets for the circus. They didn't tell me until about a week ago that we were going! I was really excited...and I wasn't the only one! Mommy had never been to a circus and neither had my cousin Caleb. We had no idea what to expect, but I was hoping for a ring of fire that tigers jumped through! What we saw was so much more than a ring of fire!!!
Grandma Donna came to our house to stay with Myla. We didn't think she would want to go to the circus and sit still, so we thought we might take her another time. Me and my parents headed off to the big city of Indianapolis! We stopped at Subway to eat because that is one of my favorites and then we drove until we pulled into the parking garage at the arena. We were a little bit early, so after we found our seats and checked out all of the fun stuff to buy, daddy took me to the main floor where a pre-party was taking place. There was a dance party with the clowns and a bounce house to play in. I only stayed a few minutes, but it was sure fun and set the tone for the rest of the evening!
When I got back to my seat, Caleb was waiting there to surprise me! We talked a mile a minute until it was time to begin! The Ring Master was awesome and the opening number had all of us clapping and dancing in our seats!
We saw elephants, Kung Fu warriors, acrobats, tigers and a lion, horses, motorcycles on tight ropes, funny clowns, trained cats and dogs, llamas, trapeze artists, and so much more!!! Mommy said the night seemed like a mix of broadway play, circus, and cirque de soleil. There was just so much to see and they had a live band that played. Daddy said the trained cats were his favorite. I thought the big dragon and the motorcycles in a ball were the best, but I actually loved everything! Mommy really liked watching all the tricks people did while riding horses. There wasn't a dull moment the whole night!! (The theme was Dragons and at the end a big robot dragon came out!)
The program was 2 and a half hours long, with an intermission and a second dance party right after the break! We laughed and smiled till our faces hurt!! It was such a great night!! While the tigers did not jump through a burning hoop, some kung fu warriors DID!! As soon as I saw what they were going to do I said, "Now that's what I'm talking about, baby!!" Two different guys ran and jumped through a ring that had swords sticking through it AND it was on fire! And the guys were blindfolded!!! It was amazing!
Mommy and daddy said we would definitely come back again when Myla is a little older so she can enjoy it, too! It was a long evening and I am glad mommy made me take a nap before we went because we didn't get home until after 11pm! After we got out of the parking garage we drove through the circle to see all the Christmas lights that were up! It slowed us down just a few minutes and then we were off to Muncie for a good night of rest!
I loved the circus!! The next day I ran around singing about having a heart like a dragon...because dragons only let certain people see them. You have to have courage like a dragon, wisdom like a dragon, strength like a dragon and a heart like a dragon. The songs were catchy!!
We took SOOOOO many pictures during the night, so here are a few highlights!
