Fall 2016

Myla rocked the beginning of Kindergarten!  She has made lots of friends and even enjoyed a couple of field trips.  She went to her very first movie night all by herself and had a blast.  She has been learning lots of SNAP words and reading with mommy every night. She also was CITIZENSHIP STUDENT OF THE MONTH.  Lynley plugged through the fall semester, too.  She was part of the Fit, Fun and Fabulous club through the end of October, learning and doing different fun kinds of exercise. She was Student of the Week during the fall, too.
Here are some other highlights from our fall!  Myla and Lynley (with some other G.A.'s) were able to go see how the money they send to Compassion for Sanata each month helps sponsored children.  It was an eye opening trip and we all learned so much about how other children live in the world.  We also enjoyed Ball State's Homecoming parade even though it was a bit chilly in the beginning.  We loved watching the bands and dancers. Trick or treating this year was a blast, as well!  We got to trick or treat at the Ball State Dorms AND on Halloween visiting with family!  Myla was "Butterfly Girl" and Lynley was Rey from Star Wars The Force Awakens.
We took a trip to the American Doll Store over fall break and both Douglas Darlings picked out their very own dolls!  It was an exciting trip and we decided to end it by the girls very first trip to The Cheesecake Factory!
And writing about yummy cheesecake makes us remember that we got to go to Pie Day at Grandpa Si's house!!  Lots of our Sorrell family got together one Saturday and made apple pies just like Grandma Hazel used to do!  Daddy cut apples and our job was to wrap the pies when they were made and get them ready for the freezers.  We had a great afternoon playing with Isaac, wrapping pies and seeing everyone.  AND we got to take a pie home!!  (We've eaten our pie since then and it was AMAZING!!)
The four of us ended our fall by heading to Myla's first ever trip to Emen's Auditorium for the Bubble Show.  It was so great.  There were lots of bubbles, a contortionist, acrobats and clowns!  It was a lot like a Cirque Show (so says daddy and mommy).  We loved it!
Our fall flew by!
