Alert the Media

What a big day we had yesterday!  First we celebrated grandma's birthday by calling her and singing to her.  Then we met her for a delicious lunch at Chili's.  Uncle Lawrence came, too.  After that we came home for just a little bit and then hit the road to head up to Marion.
We spent the evening in Marion with Grandma Donna, Grandpa Dave and MY AUNT EMILY who came in from TEXAS to visit!  Myla had never met her before so she decided to REALLY show off!!!  She decided to roll over from her belly to her back for the very first time!!  We cheered for her and she acted like it was no big deal!  She did it twice!
We had a great dinner and I played and played.  I finally kicked mommy and daddy out so I could spend the night with Emily.  My parents took Myla home so she could get a good night of sleep in her bed!
It was a great, great day with a birthday celebration, a home coming celebration, and a celebration on my baby sister rolling over!!!
Pictures will have to come tomorrow because mommy has used all of her space for pictures on blogger!!! Gotta get it fixed and then show you pictures from our day!

Whirlwind

So much has happened since I've last written!  I went to Vacation Bible School at Levi's grandma and grandpa's church.  It was called Mission to Mars and I had so much fun.  Me and Levi got to make crafts, hear stories and play!  I also spent the night at Levi's house!!!  And speaking of spending the night, I spent one night at Levi's house, one night and grandma and pa's house and one night at Grandma Donna's house!!  After all that fun we had Levi's birthday party!!!  AND then to end the week of slumber parties and fiestas (which I pronounce festivus), today I went to Levi's grandparents church for the Back to School Bash.
Me and Levi went up on stage and sang and danced to two songs that we did in bible school.  Then we sat with mommy and Aunt Sara during the service.  Mommy said she was super proud of how good we were during the service!  I got to sit with Grandma Gail and Grandpa Randy (Levi's grandparents) for some of the time, too, and I was super good!
After service we had lunch at the church and played outside.  We also watched the pastor get slimed because of all the offering the kids brought to VBS during the week.  THEN we got to go to Good's Ice Cream Shop!  Mommy and Aunt Sara let us get some ice cream before it was time to come home.
Oh, and let me tell you about our siblings!!  Poor Mr. Evan has some sickness called croup and so he can't be around us at all.  It was sad not to be able to play with him the last couple of days, but mommy says he needs to really rest and relax to get feeling better! AND Miss Myla has been so good!  She actually spent her first night away from mommy this week so mommy and daddy could go to Indianapolis for a night.  She was so good and only got up a little bit at night!  And then yesterday at Levi's party she was super and never complained.  And today she was such a good baby at the church service!!  Mommy forgot to take a pacifier and so we were a little worried she would be loud, but she was great!  She "talked" to some nice people, she smiled lots at everyone and she slept through part of the service.  THEN she was so good during the festival part!  She stayed in her stroller a lot and just smiled or slept!  She even was great at the ice cream place.

Yes, it has been another great week for the Douglas Darlings!  Tonight we are just laying low.  We've had our baths and now we are relaxing after such a whirlwind!  I am looking forward to another great week!

Fabulous Four

FOUR is a very significant number today! I woke up to mommy and daddy singing Happy Birthday to me today because I am now FOUR years old! They even brought me a donut with a candle to blow out! Then I ate breakfast, got ready and headed out so that the FOUR cousins (Levi, Evan, me and Myla) could go to the big city of Indianapolis to celebrate me and Levi being FOUR YEARS OLD!!!
We had such a blast! We started out by going to Build A Bear to do just what the name says...Build a Bear! Evan and Myla weren't super interested in doing it, but me and Levi had a great time! We got to wear stickers that said we were celebrating our FOURTH birthdays and then we picked out what friends we wanted to make! I made a beautiful purple sparkly bear and Levi made a really cool dog! We put their hearts in, stuffed them and even gave them baths! We picked out clothes and shoes and then gave them names for the birth certificates. Levi's dog is named, "Dog" and my bear is named, "Wandy". I named her that because she has a magic wand in her hand.
After Build a Bear we went to some clothing store for kids. It would have been boring except they had a television we could watch. Mommy and Aunt Sara were going on and on about how cute the clothes were.
We didn't stay too long there before we headed to lunch. Mommy suggested a place called Johnny Rockets because she thought we'd like the food AND enjoy the entertainment! So the FOUR cousins went to eat and watch the people who made our food dance! The food didn't dance...but the people did.
THEN the FOUR cousins went to Chuck E Cheese!!! Oh yeah, it was so much fun. We got more than 50 tokens a piece and we played for almost 3 hours!!! Uncle Lawrence drove all the way to Indianapolis after work so he could play with us, too! You won't believe it, but it seriously takes six adults to handle FOUR FABULOUS cousins!! I think because there were two FOUR year olds, one two year old and one 3 month old! WOO WEE!! Grandma, mommy and Aunt Sara took turns with Myla (and even Pa, too) and everybody else chased after me and Levi and Evan. It was a BLAST!
After three hours of Chuck E. Cheese we got back in the cars and headed to a place me and mommy had never been before. It was called Good's and BOY THEY HAD GOOD ICE CREAM!!! I got Cotton Candy ice cream and it was fabulous. Myla didn't have ice cream, but she did have a bottle and was such a good girl!!!
After ice cream the FOUR cousins went to Uncle Lawrence's house so Myla could stretch a little bit. We played SOME MORE and then mommy thought it was about time to come home and rest! I headed back toward Muncie and thought we were going straight home, but I had another surprise in store!
We stopped at Grandma and Pa's house where a strawberry cake with pink icing was waiting for me!!! I got to blow out FOUR candles and have just a small piece of cake. (We've had enough sugar to last for a while...but today was a special occasion so it was okay!)
After cake we headed home! I thought the day was over but daddy stopped in from work and I got one final present! I got another game for my Leapster Explorer! I just can't believe how lucky I am!!!
I am FOUR years old. I got to go celebrate being FOUR with my cousins. Me and Levi are both FOUR now (and we did some serious celebrating today)!! Four years old, loved by so many, and blessed...blessed....blessed!

Myla's Thoughts

Today I am officially 3 months old!  Time is flying by for me and it is really flying by for my parents!  It just doesn't seem possible that I am already this old.  It doesn't seem possible that my newborn clothes no longer fit and that I can almost fit into a 3 month outfit with no problems.  It doesn't seem possible that I am sleeping through the night (most of the time) and that I can put myself to sleep at night when mommy lays me down.  It just doesn't seem possible that I'm smiling and starting to grab for things all by myself.  It doesn't seem like it should be time for me to hold my head up for long periods of time and that I can almost do a "push up" during tummy time!
I sure am loving getting older, though!  I can see my sister so much better.  She sings to me and talks to me and she loves to sit by me and read me books.  I follow her with my eyes all the way across the room because I always want to know where she is!
I also love my daddy's voice.  I smile just when I hear him...even when I can't see him.  He sure is the best daddy ever.  He wraps me up really good in my blanket in the middle of the night and he makes funny faces at me while I play.  Yes, he is the best daddy.
As a three month old I have some favorite toys!  I really love my new photo album.  It has spaces for pictures of all my family, but right now it just has black and white pictures of lines and polka dots.  I smile every time I see it and soon it will hold real pictures of the people who love me.  I also love a little yellow sunshine that has a smily face.  It makes me smile, too!
Speaking of love, I sure do have so many people who love me!!  This world is a great place because everyone wants to cuddle with me (which I adore), hold me, smile at me and talk to me.  Really, I can't think of a better life!  I'm so looking forward to the time when I can run all around with my sister and my cousins, but for now I am totally enjoying snuggling with the grown ups!
Yes,  it is hard to believe I am already three months old, but three months old is a really good age!

This and That

We've had a good week.  It has been really hectic because daddy has been working tons and the kids from the Academy are moving back in, but it has been good.  I've got a few pictures to share with you and I will just tell one little thing.  We had a "first" happen today.  My parents have been telling me thousands of times to not put anything in my mouth that isn't food.  I really haven't listened much and find if fascinating to put pretty much everything in my mouth.  So today I really liked the beads that were on my dress.  For whatever reason I decided to get one off of my dress and stick it in my mouth.  Well it actually got stuck in between my teeth.  I mean really stuck!  Mommy couldn't get it.  Grandma couldn't get it.  Aunt Sara and even Aunt Lesa couldn't get it.  Mommy had to eventually call Dr. Jeff to see if we could go to his office to get it out.
While mommy was on hold she gave it one more shot.  I think she was so upset with me for sticking it in my mouth that she got super human strength for a few seconds and FINALLY got the bead out of my mouth!  Crisis taken care of and it only resulted in a little cut on my gums.  I guess maybe mommy and daddy know what they are talking about when they say, "Don't put anything in your mouth!!"
