Lynley Loves Jesus (Written by Lynley..with no secretary)

Today has been a very special day! Lynley got baptized. Mom and dad are very proud of her. It was a great day. Lynley asked Jesus into her heart at the Upward Ceremony. She now is trying to do her best at following God's Bible. She knows that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. He wants all of us to get to live with him in heaven someday. She knows that baptism is not really getting Jesus into your heart. It just shows people that you asked Jesus in to your heart. Jesus also got baptized when he lived on earth. Now Jesus is with her forever.

WELCOME SPRING BREAK!!

Today, the 2nd day of spring, we began our spring break!  No school for me meant we could head to the big city of Indianapolis and have some fun!!!  First on our agenda was to take Myla for her FIRST EVER hair cut!!  We love Cookie Cutters so that was our destination.
Myla did a GREAT job!  She walked right in and picked a car to sit in.  She didn't really want to wear the cape, but when mommy explained it was so her shirt wouldn't get dirty she decided to leave it on.  (We all know how Myla does NOT like to be dirty.)  Myla looked down when she was supposed to and she laughed when the beautician sprayed her hair with water.  They only took off a little bit of a couple of inches of hair and then put her hair in a "princess braid" so she could play.  We were so proud of her.  She asked mommy, "How does my hair look?"  She asked that several times during the day!
After Cookie Cutters we headed to Monkey Joe's for some bounce time!!  We spent about 3 hours in motion!  I went down lots of slides and bounced my way through all the bounce houses.  Myla was a different story.  She decided that she really didn't want anything to do with the bounce houses.  However, she LOVED just running around on the carpet the entire time!  She also enjoyed trying to shoot daddy with the cannon on the pirate ship!  We had a wonderful time!
Mommy thought maybe we needed some cupcakes before heading back to Muncie, so we stopped by GiGi's for a delicious treat!  This was Myla's first time there and she sure did love the icing!  We both picked the Vegas Wedding cupcakes because they had LOTS of sprinkles!!
We also stopped by Uncle Patrick's work since we were right down the street.  We took him a coke and just talked for a minute.  We'd never been to his work building before.
Me and Myla slept on the way home.  We were exhausted from such a fun afternoon!!  We were home before we knew it and found out that there was another fun thing to do just around the corner.  We got in the house, put on our bathing suits and headed to Family Swim Night!  Nothing says fun like an hour and a half kicking around the pool!!!
We are so tired tonight that we haven't made a peep since getting in bed!  I am really looking forward to what the rest of break has in store for us!!  Mommy and daddy are hoping maybe tomorrow we will sleep in, but I don't think me and Myla have decided about that yet!

How Do You Sum Up 2 Months?

Yes, it has really been 2 months since I've updated our blog.  No, I don't have a really good reason for that.  We've had lots of cold and snowy weather.  We've had lots of snow days from school (and now make up days).  We've have some sadness in our family.  We've had some really great things happen. As always, it has been a busy time for the Douglas Darlings...and we haven't even been that great at getting pictures of everything!  BUT we will try to highlight a few things that have happened!
We were able to celebrate Grandma Haz's birthday with her!!  We've been able to do lots of playing inside since the weather has been stinky.  Me and daddy got to go to the My Girl Gala (Father/Daughter dance) for my school.  It was downtown in a beautiful building and I told mommy it was just like a wedding with lots of lights and music and a dance floor.  Daddy said I wanted to dance the night away!!  I had a really good time playing and dancing with my friends and dancing a few slow dances with daddy.  We got all dressed up!  He got me flowers to wear on my wrist!  It was a great evening AND I got to stay up past my bedtime!
We successfully completed another year of Upward Cheerleading!  I was definitely more into it this year.  I took a leadership role in my group and did my best to learn all the cheers, practice our dance AND stay off the wall during games!  Instead of leaning on the wall I smiled big, cheered and kicked and jumped as best I could!!  I got several stars for leadership this year!!  And, last night, was our awards ceremony.  It was really fun.  We did our dance for the audience and the special guest was great at juggling!!
This week is going to be great...I just know it because Aunt Emily & Uncle Tim are home from Texas AND daddy is on his spring break!  Hopefully we will do some more updating!!
