Myla's First Camp

I know we have been telling you all about what is happening in August, but I wanted to back up just a minute to tell you about Myla's first summer camp at her school. I spent my summer doing swim club and so Myla's special thing this summer was to go to a day camp once a week during the summer. She had such a great time and looked forward to each week. Every session had a different theme and some of her favorites were Making Music, Farm Day, and Outdoor Fun. It was the first time she ever took her lunch to school and, of course, she handled the whole thing like a real pro! Here are a few pictures from her summer camp!(And a couple others from her summer break, as well!)

Awesome August (So Far)

The beginning of August means a couple of really big things for our family!  First, Lynley always starts school the first week of August.  This year it was on August 4th.  2nd grade is already shaping up to be a fabulous year.  We all love her teacher and Lynley has a smile on her face every day when she comes out of school.  She is already learning a lot and we've just completed her second week!
The beginning of August also means Lynley has a birthday!  It is hard to believe she is already EIGHT years old!!  We celebrated at home, at school, at Berry Winkle, and at Granny Conner's house (where we also celebrated Levi's EIGHTH birthday, too)!!
The beginning of August also means the Indiana State Fair!  This year was particularly special because it was the first time daddy has ever been able to go with us!  He usually has to work during the fair, but this year he was able to be a part of the fun!  The whole Penticuff/Douglas clan got to go together!!  We missed Uncle Tim, but everyone else was able to take the day to head to Indy!  We had pretty great weather considering it was August and we were able to see many animals, great 4-H projects and some pretty fun rides!  We learned about bees and how they make honey.  Lynley was fascinated by the queen bee and seeing the worker bees around her.  And, of course, there was much fair food to taste!
It has been a very busy couple of weeks, but it has been an awesome couple of weeks!!
