Visiting the Stables

Tonight my girl scout troop visited some beautiful horses!  We went to the stables to learn about horses and to ride, too.  We learned a lot of interesting things.  Did you know that horses only sleep about 20 minutes at a time and only about 3 times a day?  And did you know that sometimes they just sleep standing up?  We met a horse named Hudson who is the biggest they have and he weighs almost 1,400 pounds!  We also met a cute pony named Sprinkles who was about the same size as a baby horse who was only 5 months old!  Sprinkles is 18, but you would never know he was that much older than Trixie.  We also got to see a Stallion, but we couldn't pet him.  He was a BIG horse!!
After seeing where the horses live and meeting some, we each got to ride a pony.  I did a great job getting on, but it was a little scary at first.  I really loved riding around on Sugar.  His name is actually On A Sugar High, so when they announce who is riding it sounds really funny.  "Lynley is riding On a Sugar High!"
After we all rode it was time to get Sugar ready for bed.  We brushed him and watched someone clean out his shoes.  Then we put him in the bed and headed to warm cars (it was not warm in the stables)!
I had a great night and hope that sometime I can go ride again!

Celebrating Those We Love

It has been a busy seven days!  You already heard that I went to my first ever basketball clinic last Saturday.  It was an experience!  I think I liked it, but I don't know if I want to become a pro or anything.
This week I had a project to work on from school.  I brought home a big paper turkey and we had to disguise it into something I like.  We had to make it look like someone from our family, so it wouldn't be eaten on Thanksgiving!  Well I knew right away I wanted it to be a cheerleader!  Mommy asked me what kind of cheerleader and she suggested maybe a Yorktown Tiger cheerleader since that is my school.  BUT, I said I wanted it to be a Texas Longhorn Cheerleader because that is where Aunt Emily goes to school and where she lives.  So, I made a Texas cheerleader and I am so happy with it!
This weekend was a big weekend for celebrating!  Friday night and Saturday afternoon we celebrated Granny's 80th birthday!  We had dinner together, we had cake and ice cream and we had lots of fun times with ALL our family!  Then last night we went to a party for Grandma Donna's 60th birthday!  We ate and danced and talked to family and friends.  Myla was dancing with Grandpa Dave before the dancing even began!!  She was ready for a party!  We both got to talk into the microphone at different times throughout the night and that was so much fun!!  Myla even took center stage to sing "Roar" while I danced with Grandma Donna!
We've had a great week...and here are some pictures to share our week with you!

Being Brave and Trying Something New

We have lots to catch up on, but we wanted to share with you a picture taken at Lynley's first ever basketball experience.  She went to a clinic last Saturday morning and she did a great job.  By the end of the morning, she was shooting like a pro and getting more baskets than missing.  She had a sweet teacher help her one on one since she was brand new at the sport, and by the end of the day the leaders asked if they could use Lynley's picture for their facebook page.  We're so proud of her for trying something new!!!  We're not sure she will switch from cheer leading to basketball, but she sure did a wonderful job trying something new!!

No Halloweenies!

We braved the high winds and the rain to trick-or-treat Thursday night!!  It was tons of fun!  We might have been the cutest Cleopatra and bumblebee you've ever seen!!
