Beating Stress

It has been a busy and sometimes stressful week...and it is only Wednesday!!  So what do you do when you want to leave everything behind for a few hours?  Apparently when you are the Douglas parents you tell your children you are going on a little ride.  You put everybody in the car and you head to Indianapolis.  When your children make guesses as to where you are going, you don't give them answers.  Then you pull into the Monkey Joe's parking lot and you spend hours jumping around!!
This was Myla's first jumping experience and she loved it!!  She wasn't sure at first, but by then end of our time she was a seasoned pro and wanted to stay longer!!!  We all had a GREAT TIME!
In other news, Grandma Doris made a beautiful quilt for mommy and daddy and I really love it, too!  Mommy let me sleep under it on her bed while daddy was working.  Upward Sunday was this past weekend and I got to cheer during the service!  I did a really good job and had a fun time!!  Mommy can sure tell that I am loving cheerleading this year!

Four Friends

We're borrowing this picture from Aunt Sara to show you what happened yesterday!  We got to see our cousins, Evan and Levi.  It felt like it had been forever since we'd all been together.  Thanks to President's Day we were able to all go to Granny's house for some quality time together!

The last week or so has gone by so quickly and I am just realizing that we need to give an update!  Miss Myla had a routine doctor visit this week.  She did a really great job and was all smiles because no shots were required this time!  I am happy to report she is 29 lbs and 34.75 inches long!  She keeps growing and getting funnier!  I've heard the word "rotten" used many times in reference to her because she likes to keep us on our toes!!
Last week was a big week for me!!  It was my special day at school (my 1/2 birthday) so mommy, daddy and Myla all came and brought snacks to my class.  I got to wear a birthday crown and blow out a candle!  I started swimming Thursday night again.  I began level 2 and did a really great job according to mommy.  I am starting to push off the wall with my head in the water and I did lots of floating on my own.  I have a new instructor who is really nice!  I also have cheerleading on Thursday nights so I slept really well that night!  Daddy told mommy that I slept until after 10:00am on Friday morning!
Today after church daddy took me to my very first Ball State Women's Basketball game.  I had a really great time watching the cheerleaders and dancers, meeting Charlie Cardinal and playing in the bounce house!!  Myla had to take a nap, so me and daddy went on a date together to the game.  It was great!
We are gearing up for another big week so it is time for bed!

Technology

Boy, when technology works we love it!  When technology doesn't work we don't love it!!  Mommy's computer has had some issues that we think are solved for the moment so we are taking this time to give a quick update!!  We've spent the last several weeks trying to stay warm!  Lots of bubble baths, watching movies, and playing around the house has been on the agenda.  I also started cheerleading a couple of weeks ago.  I am like an old pro now since I did it last year.  Mommy says a year has made such a huge difference!!
Today was my first game of the season and I did a really nice job!  I practiced my dance at home to make sure it would be good.  I chanted as loud as I could!!  AND Myla was great at the game, even though it was her nap time!!  She ate popcorn, danced with us and spent a lot of the time sitting with Grandma Donna or walking with Pa!
Myla has become even more ornery, if that is even possible!!!  She continues to climb on everything and knows no fear.  She likes to burp and then laugh at herself.  She also enjoys playing tricks on everyone.
We are all doing well and gearing up for a VERY BUSY FEBRUARY!!

Happy New Year

There are a few words that might send mommy running for the hills if she hears them anytime soon again.  "It is a virus."  Why does she get a nervous twitch when the V word is mentioned?  Because we have had sickness in our house for a week and a half!!  Two trips to the doctor, lots of clorox wipes and even a carpet shampoo later we feel we might be at the end of our sickness.  It hit everybody in the house, stuck the longest with Lynley and then Myla decided to get into the action!  AND there was no medicine that we could use to make us feel better!
We finally ventured out of the house yesterday for a New Year's Lunch at Grandma Doris and Grandpa Max's house.  We were all feeling pretty good and had a great time!  Then we came home and hung out with Grandpa Dave and Grandma Donna while mommy and daddy went to see a movie.
Today has been a good day, too!  Myla wasn't up coughing as much last night so she was in a good mood and we decided to put up our new play house.  It has provided loads of fun (and work because we had to decorate) today!
Now that we are feeling pretty good again, we want to wish you a Happy New Year!
