Easter with Aunt Emily

The weekend was great!  Saturday morning we went to Levi and Evan's grandparents house.  The grown ups had some kind of party, but me and Myla just knew it was play time with our cousins!!!  We were so excited we could hardly stop playing to eat any lunch!
After the party we let Myla take a quick nap and then we headed to Marion for Easter with Aunt Emily!!  She flew in from Texas in the middle of the night and we were so excited to spend some time with her.  The Easter bunny also decided to make an early appearance, leaving us baskets of goodies and hiding eggs outside for a fun egg hunt!
Myla did a great job finding her eggs.  We only had to point her to one for her to see how to do it and she found all the rest on her own!  Mine were a bit more challenging to find, but I found all of them!!
Uncle Adam and Aunt Christy also came up for the celebration.  We had a fabulous Easter dinner (prepared by Grandma Donna) and spent the evening laughing and having a good time.
No visit with Aunt Emily would be complete without a performance by the Dancing Sisters!  I choreographed and taught Emily the moves and then we performed for everyone.  This time we let Myla help, too.

Tractors and Soy Beans and Animals, Oh My!

Yesterday was my school field trip to Farm Days at the fair grounds!  It was freezing outside, but mommy and daddy braved the weather to go with me!  I was a little sad at first because I really wanted Myla to go with us.  It was just too cold outside to take her, so grandma stayed with her and they both stayed warm at home.
I am not sure there is anywhere else where you can play in corn, learn about 4-H, check out animals AND hang out on tractors other than the fairgrounds!  This year there was an added bonus.  Grandma Donna's work had a booth and we got to see her while we were there.
I have definitely grown up a little bit since last year because I wasn't a bit scared to milk the cow this time.  I did it and I did a good job!!  I watched the sheep sheering, got to pet the rabbits, horses and cows and I played in everything from dirt to soybeans to straw (or hay...mommy doesn't know the difference).  I  checked out how bees make honey, took mommy on a pretend John Deere ride and sat on the big horse.  I planted watermelon seeds to take home, learned about the wild animals that live in Muncie (Yep, there are wild animals around these parts) and talked to some guys about water pollution.
Despite the wind and cold, we had a great time!  The buildings were nice and warm and I didn't even think about how cold it was outside.  I Love Farm Days!!

Celebrating Weekend

We had a big weekend!  Friday night grandma and pa came over for dinner and a movie!  We watched Rise of the Guardians and ended the evening with pa reading a bedtime story.  It was a good night in!
Saturday was my last Upward game for the season.  I had a big crowd to cheer me on and I loved every minute of it!!  Uncle Adam, Grandma Donna, Uncle Lawrence, Evan, Levi, Grandma, Pa, Grandpa Joe, Grammy, Aunt Ruthie, Aunt Clata and Uncle Bob all came to watch as we performed all our dances.    Uncle Adam even did the chicken dance with us.
Sunday night was our Upward Celebration.  It was AWESOME!  They announced all our names and the cheerleaders did a dance.  Then we watched a man named Dan Meyer who is a real life sword swallower!!!  You would not believe everything he could do!!  He has been on big television shows and is in record books and everything!  His act wasn't for the faint of heart!!  Mommy thought it was kind of gross.  Grandma Donna thought so, too.  I thought it was soooo cool, and so did the rest of the cheerleaders and basketball players!   I got his autograph after it was over.
It was definitely a great weekend of celebrating!  I told mommy and Grandma Donna I am not happy Upward is over until next year, but I am happy that I'll get to spend a little more time at home.  Thursdays have been very busy with school, swimming and cheerleading.

Three Hour Party

Today was a fundraiser day at Chuck E Cheese for my school.  So, what do you get when you spend over three hours playing where a kid can be a kid?  75 tokens, one large pizza, a not yet two year old who knows how to put her own tokens in, 280 tickets, three dances with the live Chuck E, one five year old who gets to play with lots of school friends, two tired parents, two tired grandparents and a very punchy two year old ready for bed!  Yep, we had a great time!!!
